Getting There - Aneel's Travelogue

I spent the whole day at the Kennedy Space Center today, and I'm going back tomorrow. It turned out that buying an annual pass was cheaper than buying a one day ticket and paying for parking, which works out really well, because Space Shuttle Atlantis is currently in the Vehicle Assembly Building (being prepped to become an exhibit at KSC, now that the shuttles have been decommissioned) and I wasn't able to get a ticket for a tour today.

The most impressive thing currently on display there is clearly the Saturn V. The scale of that thing is just incredible, and to think of it filled with volatile fuels...

I was surprised at how fun the shuttle launch simulator was.

The TV here is going on about Hurricane Sandy. There were a bunch of rain showers today. Hopefully it won't get worse.
