Farewell Campervan Alice Springs, NT, Australia, Monday, 20 June 2011 11:06am

One of the things I meant to do in Alice Springs if I had the time was visit the reptile park. I didn't have time, but I happened to have dinner at a tavern last night where someone from the park was doing a presentation. He showed off the highlights of the park, including some cool lizards, and talked about the various venomous snakes and showed them to us. It's a good thing I didn't get bitten, since I wouldn't have guessed that that brown snake was actually a Black Snake and that the greenish one was a King Brown. I would definitely have gotten the wrong antivenin.

My last caravan park was clearly a family park rather than a pensioner park. Lots of kids running around screaming. Or maybe I was missing another dingo commotion.

I fueled up the van one last time and dropped it off. Total kilometrage: 3246.

Oh, and I reread the documentation for the van. It didn't estimate 13 km/l (30 mpg), but 13 l/100 km (18 mpg), which makes more sense now that I've done the unit conversions. I ended up averaging 13.148 l/100 km.
