The transatlantic flight went smoothly. I slept almost the entire way.
Charles de Gaulle Airport is pretty enormous. I can't remember the last time I walked quite so far without leaving an airport. I was a bit confused because the screens weren't showing a gate for my flight to Athens, just the terminal (every other flight showed a gate). I didn't want to pass through security twice, so I asked around and was eventually told the actual gate number. It was a good thing that several people had agreed on that gate, because when I got there, the monitor for that gate was displaying a flight for Copenhagen that had left several hours earlier. I had a sandwich on French bread (fairly tasty) and a Blood Orangina (bitter), and returned to hang around that gate. If I hadn't been right there, I wouldn't have heard the quiet announcement for boarding for the Athens flight.
I was worried, because I'd expected to meet up with Tinny and Jarek in the airport, and there was no sign of them when the plane started boarding, but they showed up among the last few passengers.
