Getting There - Aneel's Travelogue

Night dive Roatan, Honduras, Thursday, 10 July 2008 4:51am

Night dive along Coco View Wall. There was a lot to pay attention to: managing a light, watching depth when it's hard to see landmarks, tracking my buddy without shining my dive light in her eyes and blinding her, keeping from hitting the overhangs that I unknowingly swam under...

It's no wonder that I didn't see a whole lot of moving life down there. The corals do take on an even more alien glow, and they're startling colors when actually lit. There are reds you never see in sunlight, because those frequencies don't make it down to that depth.
