Dreams and Reservations San Francisco, CA, Thursday, 19 June 2008 1:39pm

I started taking antimalarials last night. This time around, I'm giving Chloroquine a try. It's a weekly dose, rather than a daily dose, which may make it hard to remember. It's sometimes hard to keep track of the day of the week, when you're on the road. Sadly, I don't think I'll be gone for long enough this time to really forget.

Chloroquine isn't supposed to have vivid dreams as a side effect (some other antimalarials do), so maybe it's just a coincidence, but my dreams were very memorable.

I just made a hotel reservation for my first couple nights in Honduras. I was waffling about whether to spend any time at all in San Pedro Sula, which a lot of people seem to think isn't much of a destination, but it seems like they'll be having their annual festival the day after I get there, so I figure I might as well stick around to see it.

After that, the plan is to go to Copán for a few days. Maybe I'll stay there the whole time and do day trips out to the ruins and the various other attractions in the area. Maybe I'll explore other parts of Honduras. I'm planning to mostly play it by ear. I need to be back in San Pedro Sula after a week to catch a plane to Roatán, where I'll meet up with the rest of the group for some Scuba and cocktails.

I'm leaving on Friday night (6/27), meeting people on Roatán on 7/5, and flying back to the States on 7/12.
