Getting There - Aneel's Travelogue

We decided that we'd been biking too much and not seeing the places we were passing through, so we extended our stay at Big Sur for another day. We ended up doing laundry, writing postcards and reading on the beach.

Pfeiffer State Beach is one of the most picturesque beaches I've ever seen. Several stone arches make the wave patterns really interesting. Various colors of mineral deposits along the coast make interesting colors of sand, and each passing wave changes the patterns.

It was nice to bike around without the panniers, but it wasn't until I ditched the handlebar bag to bike to dinner that the bike felt really nimble again. It's like being in a sports car after a week of riding in an RV.
